I recently started doing a bit of memcache scripting to checkout some values in our memcache servers. Unfortunately, the python-memcached functions are not “exception catching” friendly. Looks like None is the value for anything.
Data Not Found = None
Connectivity Issue = None
get_stats = []
Not much help when trying to debug data issues when the same None value is returned by every condition. I’ll see what else I can find.
Summary: SSDs live fast, die young, and pretend to be OK even while they’re dying. Don’t use one without awesome backups.
And sometimes, they come back from the dead.
